Oftentimes on the weekend I’ll get pictures from several different areas throughout Saturday and Sunday. This weekend I got a lot of really nice photos between going through Worthington MN, driving through to Lake Bella, and heading back through town in Sibley. Ducks are still really plentiful right now, and I was super happy to add a new duck species to my lifer list. The Green-winged Teal is a really beautiful colored duck, with a stunning rusty read head, and a green stripe across the eyes. And much like their name implies, a bright green colored patch in their wings.

My favorite photo of the weekend however, has to be of this female Ring-necked Pheasant. I’ve mentioned before how frustrating photographing these birds can be, but this girl sat and posed for me so perfectly and it turned out to be such a beautiful shot. I almost never see the females as often as the males so this really was a treat.

This weekend also proved to be a great time for me to get some action shots. This is something I’ve really been wanting to work on, so I had a lot of fun taking these. Birds in flight always look so cool!

The majority of photography I do is wildlife, but I also really love taking photos of domestic animals as well. Very often while looking for wildlife in the country, we come across loose chicken in fields and I can never resist. I’m not familiar with the breeds these chickens are but they have really beautiful coloring. These cattle have really beautiful coloring as well as some really impressive horns.
