I think most people know by now that woodpeckers are my absolute favorite bird. They come is so many different shapes and sizes, and while mostly being black and white and red, still manage to look pretty unique. I haven’t photographed many species, and there are so many I’d love to find and photograph yet on my journey. My favorite so far is probably the Red-bellied Woodpecker. They are a larger size and have a beautiful pop of red, much like the name implies. I love having these birds come to the feeder, but nothing compares to capturing them in the wild.
